Effective Energy Welcomes New Government Heat Pump Grant

After weeks talking about rising energy prices, the energy industry has seen some good news. A new government grant has been announced, giving households £5000 towards the cost of a heat pump. With a total budget of £450 million, this scheme will help up to 90,000 households switch to heat pump technology.

Here at Effective Energy Group, we welcome this plan! Any move to help homeowners decarbonise their homes is a step in the right direction, and we’re excited to see what this will do for the heat pump market.

We recognise that this grant will not make heat pumps immediately accessible to low-income households. However, this grant is part of a wider government budget.

£3.9 billion has been pledged to improve the UK’s energy use, including £800 million for social housing.

As our CEO, Richard Cox, says, the grant “will help to stimulate and bring about the market transformation that is needed and provides the confidence to industry and consumers to invest in new ‘clean’ heating systems.”

For heat pumps to be as efficient as possible, it is important to optimise your home’s insulation. Thankfully, we can help with that too. Our installation company, Effective Home, will take care of installing Air Source Heat Pumps, and our insulation company, Max Energy, will see that you get the most out of your heat pump by making your home as energy efficient as possible.

Customers don’t have to wait until April though. The Renewable Heat Incentive is still open! With the RHI, you can install an Air Source Heat Pump right now and receive yearly payments from the government to offset the installation cost.
