Local Authorities

Improvements for vulnerable residents

Partnering with councils and communities to access the funding needed to tackle fuel poverty.

Schemes and funding

The Effective Energy Group works alongside Local Authorities and councils, to help provide access to the funding needed to make housing stock improvements.

We offer an 360º service for Local Authorities. With the whole customer journey managed by one of our experts, from start to finish.

This invaluable service has been developed over time to give Local Authorities what they need – fast access to funding, particularly where resources are lacking. In a nutshell, we ensure vital projects keep moving rather than grinding to a halt.

Our services
Local Authorities and Councils get to define their own criteria as they work with our ECO-accredited, pre-approved partners at Effective Energy Solutions – to install energy saving measures for vulnerable households that require them.

We can make the whole process seamless via:

  • Project design
  • Project management
  • Property surveys and assessments
  • Retrofit designs
  • Installation of all measures
  • Compliance management

Caring for the vulnerable
Under the latest iteration of the ECO Scheme, many homeowners can have their old boilers replaced completely free of charge via a new boiler grant. However, there is a growing number of people who do not receive benefits, so are not eligible. The Effective Energy Group works with councils to deliver LA Flex, a scheme designed to help vulnerable householders who would otherwise miss out.

LA Flex
LA Flex is the extension of the Government’s ECO scheme that helps UK households reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint for those:

  • Living in fuel poverty
  • Living on a low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home, or
  • Non-fuel poor but located in an immediately adjacent building to, in the same building as, or in the same terrace as households identified by a Local Authority as Fuel Poor or Low Income and Vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home (this is only applicable for Solid Wall measures)

This is often achieved by subsidising the cost (up to 100%) of installing energy saving measures – such as cavity wall or loft insulation, room in roof insulation and new high efficiency boilers.

Effective ways of working
with Local Authorities

  • We access the funding
  • Target specific areas
  • Scheme promotion to generate interest
  • Provide professional contractors
    to deliver the measures
  • Produce weekly/monthly status reports
  • Ensured compliance around the
scheme – piece of mind the work is
being done to a high standard
  • Determining your objectives
  • Delivering against those objectives
    all the way

We’re completely flexible about how we
provide these services, either as Turnkey or
individual elements. Whatever works best
for each for Local Authority and project.
